Adding the Water Back Into a Waterfront Home

This Jamaica Beach project extended the house toward the canal it was already sitting on. A new boat dock and a stacked, multi-level deck system now step down from the living level to the water, turning what had been a view into something you can actually use.

The interior addition carries the same intent. A vaulted ceiling in whitewashed shiplap opens the great room upward, a quartz waterfall island anchors the new kitchen, and a textured blue tile feature wall gives the space a focal point that reads from the front door. The result is a house that finally works in both directions — inward toward the living space, outward toward the boat.
